Sodium Bromate
1. General Description
Chinese name: Sodium Bromate
English name: sodium bromate
Other name(s): bromate de sodium; dyetone; neutralizerk; bromide ion chromatography standard; bromide standard
Molecular formula: NaBrO3
Molecular weight (MW): 150.9
CAS No.: 7789-38-0
EINECS No.: 232-160-4
The sodium bromate takes the form of white crystalline granules or crystalline powder, odorless, in relative density of 3.339, with strong oxidizing property. It decomposes and releases oxygen at 381 ℃. The chemical is soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, and its aqueous solution was neutral.
When mixing the sodium bromate with ammonium salt, metal powder, flammable material, organic material or other readily oxidizable substances, we get explosive mixtures which easily burn or explode under friction or heat. Contact with sulfuric acid also triggers explosion. The sodium bromate react violently with aluminum, arsenic, copper, carbon, metal sulfides, organic matter, phosphorus, selenium, and sulfur.
2. Our Advantages
Our sodium bromate is a winner of several patents and the National Torch Program Certificate. It is characterized by high purity, uniform particle, and goodflowability.

e) used as oilfield demulsifier.
6. Storage and Handling
The sodium bromate should be stored in a cool, ventilated warehouse.
Keep it away from fire and heat.
Make sure it is sealed.
Do not put the sodium bromate together with the combustibles and reducing agents.
Storage areas should be equipped with suitable containers to collect the sodium bromate leaks.
7. Safety Precautions
The sodium bromate may cause the following consequences:
a) May intensify fire.
b) Oxidizer.
c) Harmful if swallowed.
d) Cause skin irritation.
e) Cause severe eye irritation.
f) Suspected of causing genetic defects.
g) Suspected of causing cancer.
h) Suspected of being harmful to fertility or unborn child.
