Air end structure The air end uses a pair of steel-screw motor gear meshes with high strength to achieve air compression with the air inlet end adopting a pair of tapered roller bearings and the air outlet end using two pairs of back to back-tapered roller bearings to ensure higher stability of both radial and axial and radial movement. The single air end achieves air compression by the meshing movement between a steel- screw rotor and a pair of plastic-star wheel. As the plastic star wheel features poor abrasion resistance, if being used for long periods of time, the fitting clearance with screw motor might increase, which can lower the air compressor's efficiency. Moreover, there is a small area between the star wheel and the screw rotor, which accelerates wear of the screw rotor and even reduces lifespan of the air compressor head.
Air end lifespan This twin screw air compressor applies a structure featuring a rotor and back-to-back tapered roller bearing which feature IR patented technology, ensuring the air end a service life of no less than 10,000 hours. As the plastic star wheel is susceptible to high temperature and pressure industrial and mining condition, the single air compressor used in China usually lasts for one year, in other words, the air compressor head only has a service life of one year.
Production cost The twin screw air compressor has a heavy load, which requires high precision bearings and creates higher cost. But its high quality, reliability and service life can be ensured. Ordinary bearings are fitted for screw rotor and star wheel bearings with a relatively low cost, which, however, might not be reliable and the service life might not be ensured.
Processing equipment There has been mature milling and grinding machine specially designed for the screw rotor for a stable product performance. There is no mature processing equipment to ensure the stability of product performance.
Applicability As there are limitations in the rotor rigidity and bearing load, it only suits for medium and low pressure with the maximum discharge pressure up to 4.5MPa, such as air compressor for air compression power, refrigeration compressor, low pressure natural gas compressor and etc. Single air compressor uses a plastic star wheel, which is demanding for the compressors' operating environment, so, it is only applicable to a relatively sound occasion, such as high- pressure air compressor, refrigeration compressor, natural gas air compressor, compressor equipment used for factories and etc.
