Why do highways need to install wind fence?

Crosswinds are often strong winds blowing from the sides of the road. When a high-speed vehicle is subjected to crosswind, it can result in traffic accidents. Crosswinds have a greater impact on cars with boxes, such as vans, large passenger cars, canvas vans and so on, because the overall center of gravity of such vehicles is higher and the lateral area is larger. Besides, light cars are also easily affected by crosswind. In addition, the effect of the crosswind is aggravated with the increase of speed of cars. When a car is driven out of a tunnel, or toward a bridge or high embankment with wind, it is often suddenly attacked by strong crosswind.

By installing the wind fence in proper position, the following effects can be achieved:
  • Reducing the speed of crosswind.
  • Improving the safety of highways.
The design basis of this wind fence
  • Determination of the crosswind appearing area.
  • The direction of the highway;
  • Information about maximum speed of crosswind, wind pressure and dominant wind direction.
  • Geological reports on the areas that need wind fencing
  • Approximate budget for installing the wind fence
The required materials for wind fence for highway
  • Steel fence panel
  • Steel structure of wind fence
  • Foundation of wind fence
