Iron and Manganese Removal Filter
Application
The iron and manganese removal filter is designed to remove iron ions, manganese ions, and other suspended solids in underground water supply systems.
Design principle
After the air charging or dosing the oxidizing agent into the underground water which contains iron(manganese), the iron (manganese) ion begins to oxidize. With the contact oxidation reaction in the filtering layer, the biochemical reaction in the surface of filter material and the physical interception absorption, the iron (manganese) ion in water is subsided and removed when the treatment water flows through the manganese sand filtering layer. Especially in the process when treating the slight pollution underground water contains the manganese, the iron bacterium not only effectively removals the iron and manganese, but also can uses the ammonia in the water as the nutrient source to metabolise. In addition, the device can removal the ammonia and nitrogen as the participation of other bacteria.
Function
The iron and manganese removal filter can remove about the 98% heavy metals, like Fe, Pb, Mn, Cd, Ce, Ａg, Ａr, Ａl , Se, Cu, Hg. What's more, with the help of the redox reaction of sediment in the KDF media, the device can decrease the content of carbonate, nitrate, sulfate and scaling materials in the treatment water, removing the sulfureted hydrogen, ferrous iron, arsenic and fluorine, and sterilizes and removes algae.
Features of the iron and manganese removal filter
(1) The water which is purified by the iron and manganese removal filter can be directly routed to the water supply system, and does not need to set a second stage water supply system. The device features a self back wash function and does not need a back wash pump.
(2) The pressure type filter has the high back wash intensity, short operation time, long filtration period and long use age of filter material.
(3) The iron and manganese removal filter adapts the distributed water distribution method, decrease the distance between filter layer and distributing pipe and saves large amount of the back wash water.
