Introduction

A grounding device is often equipped on a naked propeller shaft in order to prevent a pick up current between the shaft and the bearing. The propeller shaft grounding device is installed inside the propeller shaft in order to circuit the current back to the ship. To detect the grounding device, there is another monitoring device connected to a voltmeter in order to detect propeller shaft voltage.
