Rotary Shear / Coil Slitter
The coil slitter is really the workhorse of any slitting line, as it slits jumbo rolls of steel into narrower ones according to preset parameters. In the manual operation mode, the steel strip is pulled forward as it is cut. When set to the automatic mode, the roll slitter and the rewinder are powered by two separate AC motors.
To synchronize their movements, a control system is used. Digital AC speed adjustment system maintains a constant slitting speed, resulting in superior steel strip quality with no burrs or camber. Along the slitter arbor are small protrusions (protruding tabs) that are designed to form keyed joints with spacers and slitter knives. Thanks again to the keyed joint, it is easy to replace slitter knives.
