Oil immersed transformers are transformers where the body is composed of cores and winding and are immersed in tanks full of transformer oils. Transformer oils are used for insulation, with the oil circulation inside the tank transferring heat generated from the winding to a radiator (heat sink) for heat dissipation. Compared to dry transformers, oil transformers feature a better overload capacity. As oil ejection or leaks do occasionally occur, oil immersed transformers are generally used outdoors, and feature relatively lower prices.

  • Oil immersed transformers use iron roll cores and highly stable winding support, improving operational reliability. Fully sealed corrugated oil tanks are used to ensure the transformer oil will not come into contact with ambient air and will not absorb external moisture that will result in a loss of insulation strength.
  • On load tap changers change the output voltage through the use of regulating switches that change the number of coils by adjusting the coil tap chargers on one side of the transformers. They are especially suitable for users with large grid fluctuations and requirements for a stable voltage, as they achieve both manual and automatic voltage regulation, even when the power is not turned off.
